Smaller Mary Cain black Santa Clara Pueblo pottery with Avanyu.  This lovely piece is approximately 3 3/4″ tall and 4 1/2″ in diameter.  Mary Cain was recognized with numerous awards for her traditional Santa Clara pottery. Mary Cain was a daughter of Christina Naranjo, granddaughter to Sara Fina Tafoya, and niece to the great Margaret Tafoya & Camilio ‘Sunflower’ Tafoya… all amazing artists. Born in 1916, and primarily taught by her mother, Mary began making pottery around the age of 15.    Please watch this quick video-
