Lawrence Namoki Hopi Pottery: “Balance”

Hopi Pottery by award-winning artist, Lawrence Namoki.  This piece is titled: ‘Balance’.  It even has TWO different flat spots on the bottom of the pot … on which to balance!  This unique piece features beautiful intricate painting and inset turquoise stones.  Working and residing in First Mesa (Polacca), Lawrence Namoki is known to be one of the best contemporary Hopi potters of today.  His pottery is highly respected, has won numerous awards, and is recognized throughout the world.  Lawrence Namoki is very involved in many sacred Hopi ceremonies, and his spirituality often comes through in his creative artwork.  Attached is a scan of hand-written descriptions (by Mr. Namoki) of this lovely piece of pottery.
